Commodity Overview & Global Markets

India is the global epicenter for dry chilli cultivation and exports, producing varieties that combine fiery capsaicin pungency with deep red carotenoid pigmentation. Indian Dry Red Chilli is imported globally across China, Southeast Asia (Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia), the Middle East, Europe, and the United States for hot sauce extraction, oleoresin manufacturing, culinary seasoning powders, and meat processing.

Vishnu Balaji Global maintains direct trading desks in the Guntur spice hub (Asia's largest dry chilli market) and Warangal. We manage cold storage buffering and manual stem-cutting lines to deliver clean, crisp, and insect-free consignments with controlled moisture below 11%.

Available Chilli Varieties

  • Teja Chilli (S17): Highly pungent small-to-medium pods delivering 75,000 to 90,000 SHU. Favored for Asian culinary pastes, chili oil infusions, and industrial capsaicin extraction.
  • Guntur Sannam (S4): Classic medium-high heat chilli (35,000 to 45,000 SHU) with bright red skin and thick pericarp, ideal for curry powder blending and consumer retail packing.
  • Byadgi Chilli: Low heat (10,000 to 25,000 SHU) but exceptionally high ASTA color value (120–150 ASTA), prized as a natural natural red food coloring agent.
  • Crushed Chilli Flakes & Ground Chilli: Uniform 10-mesh to 20-mesh flakes with calibrated seed-to-pod ratios, packaged for pizzeria, food service, and industrial seasonings.

Packaging Formats & Container Stowing

Due to the low bulk density of dry red chillies, packaging and baling must be engineered to optimize ocean freight volume:

  • Hydraulic Pressed Bales: 50kg or 100kg jute baled packs pressed under hydraulic rams, allowing 14 to 15 Metric Tons in a 40ft High Cube (HC) container.
  • Unpressed Carton Packing: 10kg, 20kg, or 25kg master cartons, protecting pod integrity and stem attachment (approx. 7.5 to 8.5 MT per 40ft HC).
  • PP Sacks (Unpressed): 20kg or 25kg breathable woven sacks (approx. 7 to 8 MT per 40ft container).
